Hey guys, Welcome back to the bioeducation1, In this post you will learn about how you can work with someone that you hate him/her. Let's go to the topic:- How to work with Someone you don't like
How to work with Someone you don't like
Working with somebody you dislike can be distracting and depleting. Rather than focusing on the work you need to do together, you might wind up sitting around idly attempting to hold your feelings within proper limits and endeavoring to deal with the people conduct.
Colleagues are somewhat similar like your family. You don't get to pick them, yet you need to invest a lot of time with them. So what do you do about a colleague you truly don't like? Would you be able to change the relationship or track down methods of adapting? How would you make the best of the circumstance?
Luckily, with the right strategies, you can in any case have a useful working relationship with somebody you cannot stand.
1. Understand the person
As a human, it's normal to have the tendency to like the people who resemble you.
If your unlikable colleague is altogether different from you, that reality alone may hold you back from building a superior relationship with him or her regardless of their behaviour.
In this way, drive yourself out of your comfort zone and connect with your colleague to get to know that person on a more personal level. The more you get to know somebody, the more you might perceive similarities between you and the more probable you'll be to alter your perspective on that person.
2. Don't mind the etiquette personally
The person whose behaviour and etiquette might be different from you. Don't take it personally, it will not hurt you until you take it personal. The behaviour might get rude at sometime for you. His behaviour towards the work is mannered that only matters to you not anything else. Just be calm and take the decision freely that how can you cope with him.
3. Set Limitation
One of the difficulties of unlikable individuals is that they accompany similarly unlikable behaviour and its important to figure out how to distance yourself from that etiquette or behaviour. The expert says that the good boundaries make good friendship. If you really feel that the annoying behaviour of your colleagues or friends really bad for others, tell them so that they can think of themselves that What they are trying to do. Set the boundaries for yourself that you will not think much about him.
4. Talk to the person
You should go at this stage quitely that the individual may not understand that their behaviour adversely affects you. Without a doubt, as a rule, regardless of whether the other individual is unmindful, a peaceful word is necessary. While talking to the person, be calm and share your thoughts with him and make him understand that his behaviour and talkative language might not attract the people towards him. This behaviour can ruin his life. It does not only affect you but also your surrounding.
5. Spend more time with the person
One of the best way to know someone by spending time with him. Working on the same project which require coordination and team management will be the best to spend time. This might appear to be unreasonable since you probably need to run from the room screeming at whenever the individual is there. But by working together on the same project you can understand him or might develop some empathy. After that might you feel compassion instead of irritation. You may discover that there is the reason for his weird behaviour with others. It might be the conflict between the parents, stress of home, pressure from the boss. By spending time with him you get to know more than by leaving him at that place. But if that person violates your moral and ethics and making fun of your in front of others then leaving the place isn't a bad strategy. Self-respect is more important than anything else.
6. Don't Embarass the person
You can make yourself clear without telling the whole office. Don't accuse someone for being some problem in front of others in the office. Instead tell him how you feel at that time.
For example if he bring something to eat which you don't like and it smells bad. So instead of shouting or accusing tell him to go towards the cafeteria to eat because it smells bad for you. Don't give an order to do something instead appeal him and give the solutions to him so that he can work on it.
7. Make sure quarrel doesn't affect the work
This advice expects that you have just a personality issue with the individual or minor issues with behaviour. On the off chance that somebody is harming your work or reputation or sabotaging you, it is an altogether different matter and you might have to archive the behaviour and involve your boss or HR. The boss or HR will look after the matter and be careful from yourself that your conflict doesn't affect your work.
Always remember, we should not judge the people on the basis of his dressing style, behaviour or language. His behaviour might be good towards you but you didn't like his dressing style. Change your mind instead of telling him. Respect the person how they are? Self-Respect is more important than your friendliness, if some one disrespect you then leave the place immediately.
